New QSS leave form to make movement safer

The Queensland Shared Service (QSS) has developed a standardised form for Government employees which will allow them to be recognised for their leave entitlements when moving between one State Government entity and others.

According to QSS it’s now simpler and easier for one to take leave entitlements with them when moving between government entities due to its development of a standardised ‘Recognition of previous service form.’

QSS said its customers who already use the service could start using the new form immediately but the QSS Payroll team will stop accepting emails and other PDF forms for this service from 1 June this year.

“If you’re not sure whether your Agency uses this service, speak to your supervisor or HR team,” QSS advised.

It said that to find the form the first step is to find the Recognition of previous service form in the QSS Self Service Centre.

“Either use the search feature near the top of the page, or navigate to the form by selecting: Information, Human resources, My pay (payroll), Changing jobs (secondments), Recognition of previous service.”

It said the change was required because there are various PDF forms in circulation which do not accurately gather all the information QSS Payroll needs to complete the requests.

“This is creating rework and delays,” it said.

“A new, standardised form will address this.”

QSS said the new PDF form was designed to be completed entirely online: “Download the Recognition of previous service PDF and complete the first section.

“Email the form to your previous employer’s payroll team.

“They’ll complete the second part of the form and digitally sign it—this locks the form so it can no longer be edited.”

It said your previous employer’s payroll team will send the form back to you and you submit the form to QSS using the Submit a HR form in the QSS Self Service Centre.

It invited readers with questions or requests for more information to email the QSS Customer Relationship team at [email protected].
