The Public Sector Commission (PSC) has announced a new Information Communications Technology (ICT) Graduate Program, creating opportunities graduates looking for jobs in the discipline after finishing their studies.
The program will be targeted at students and graduates from a range of in-demand ICT disciplines, such as data science and analytics, and cyber security.
The PSC said it hoped up to 40 graduates would be recruited for the program.
“Graduates will complete a number of rotations between Agencies across the Government, getting real-world experience in their chosen fields and the opportunity to apply their skills to progress the Government’s digital priorities,” the PSC said.
“Government Agencies will be involved in this unique opportunity to develop and improve ICT skills and take part in the growth of the public sector’s digital capabilities.”
Minister for Innovation and the Digital Economy, Stephen Dawson said the establishment of the program demonstrated the Government’s commitment to ensuring the public sector had the necessary skills to meet current and emerging ICT demands.
“I am excited about the development of a new pathway for ICT graduates to enter the Public Service and the benefits they will bring,” Mr Dawson said.
