ArtsACT has issued an invitation to arts organisation in the ACT not already receiving Government funding to apply for a range of grants for their business and strategic development.

Organisations can apply for sums between $5,000 and $20,000.

Minister for the Arts and Cultural Events, Gordon Ramsay said this funding would be offered to smaller arts organisations in the ACT to increase their business capacity.

“We know from listening to the arts sector in the ACT that organisations need support in other areas beyond just funding specific programs or events,” Mr Ramsay said.

“This investment will help ACT art organisations with strategic planning, business development and financial and administrative management.”

He said arts organisations enriched the community and provided important opportunities for artists to develop and excel in their work.

“We want to help these organisations build their capacity so they can focus on what they do best, supporting artists and providing engaging experiences for audiences,” Mr Ramsay said.

He said proposed activities must focus on business and strategic development with the funding unavailable for any artistic skills/development or programing activities, the purchase of equipment or for educational courses.

The Capacity Building for Non-funded Arts Organisations funding round is open until 6 June.
