The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) has launched a new website, providing a one-stop online source of information and advice for dealing with emergencies in the ACT.
In a statement, the ESA said the new website was the single point of truth for emergency information within the ACT.
“Through news alerts, the Live Incidents Map and ESA News, we aim to keep our community informed and up to date about emergencies and risks,” the Agency said.
“The Live Incidents Map is a free tool we’ve made available to provide a visual overview of active incidents ESA services are responding to.
“News alerts provide you with updates on incidents impacting the community, and ESA News shares the general happenings within the ESA.”
It said that in conjunction with the launch of the new website, changes had been made to the Live Incidents Map.
“Now, for the first time the Live Incidents Map will include ACT Ambulance Service incidents,” it said.
“Ambulance incidents are shown at a suburb level, not an exact location. We have done this deliberately to ensure that we maintain the privacy of our patients.”
ESA said it planned to add ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT State Emergency Service information to the Live Incidents Map in the near future.
“Further improvements include easier access to emergency education material,” it said.
“Other changes have been carefully designed to make it easier for people to navigate through the website and gather information,” the Agency said.
