A new campaign aimed at highlighting the convenience, cost and time savings of the State’s public transport systems has been announced by the State Government.
According to the Government the campaign promotes the benefits of using Adelaide Metro services to travel to work, school and social events easily and is aimed at encouraging infrequent commuters, or those who previously used public transport, to “get back on board”.
“The Gift of Time campaign will appear across multiple platforms in high-traffic locations, including on digital and social media channels, print, radio and outdoor advertising,” the Government said.
“It emphasises that jumping back on board public transport can provide the opportunity to relax and unwind during your daily commute (and) get back time for yourself without the stress of driving, dealing with traffic or finding a park,” it said.
“And with petrol prices remaining high, choosing to catch buses, trains or trams is an even more attractive option to see more money stay in your pocket.”
The Government said South Australians travelling into the city for work each day could save more than $10,000 annually taking public transport rather than driving.
“Public transport is also a great way to play your part to help reduce congestion on our roads and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for South Australia,” it said, “supporting the State Government’s objective of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.”
it said the campaign would complement a range of new initiatives and upgrades introduced in the past 12 months designed to make public transport simpler and safer as well as including free metropolitan travel at any time for South Australian Seniors Card holders and the roll-out of Tap and Pay on all trams and buses.
“The Gift of Time campaign is part of ongoing work from Adelaide Metro and its partners to grow patronage across the network and drive a better customer experience for all passengers,” the Government said.
“The first phase of the campaign will run until 31 July.”
