The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage has announced that its Community Schemes Draft Operational Policy 1.11 and associated guidelines are now available for public comment.
In a statement, the Department said the policy and guidelines were intended to support implementation of the Community Titles Act 2018, which introduced a new form of tenure for land and buildings suited to more complex or mixed-use development or subdivision, within a shared environment.
It said Community Titles Schemes were being introduced to Western Australia through the Act.
“The draft operational policy provides an overview of what is required by proponents; assessment documentation, timeframes and processes, and what the Planning Commission will consider in its deliberations and decision-making,” the Department said.
“The draft guidelines offer more detailed information on the assessment process and include template documents and formatting guidance.”
The Department said respondents should note that stakeholder feedback was sought only for the policy and guidelines at this time.
“Information you provide in your submission will be used to help inform the final policy and guidelines which are expected to be operational when regulations come into effect,” the statement said.
“Your feedback may be used in a submission report that is made public; however personal details will not be included.”
Consultations close on 27 April and comments can be made at this PS News link.
