Canberra Liberals have made election promises ahead of the ACT Legislative Assembly election aimed at lowering taxes, delivering new police and fire stations as well as recruiting more police and emergency services workers.

Leader of the Canberra Liberals, Alistair Coe said that if elected, the Liberals would bring a fresh vision to Murrumbidgee to reduce the cost of living and deliver better services.

“Families, households and local small and family businesses will save hundreds of dollars every year through reductions in private and business car rego costs,” Mr Coe said.

“Our four year rates freeze will save hardworking families $1,500 on their rates bills, helping more families get ahead,” he said.

“Our $200 Active and Creative Kids vouchers will reduce pressure on parents so they can continue to support their children’s participation in sports and extra-curricula activities.”

Mr Coe said his party would provide a new fit-for-purpose police station as well as a new fire and ambulance station for Weston Creek and Molonglo.

“We will bolster our police and emergency services capabilities with 130 more police officers and 100 more fire fighters,” he said.

“Canberra is growing, we need to ensure our police and emergency workers grow too.”

Mr Coe said the new police recruits would join the ranks of ACT Policing within the next term of government.
