Canberrans are to be able to enjoy a café or dining experience on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin soon at the newly transformed Regatta Point function centre, due to the National Capital Authority partnering with hospitality group, Grand Pacific Group (GPG).

Federal Assistant Minster for Territories, Nola Marino said the partnership would see the space at Regatta Point transformed into a “fabulous, sophisticated and accessible restaurant, café and function space”.

ACT, Senator Zed Seselja said the new café and restaurant would be a welcome addition that would add vibrancy to the lake front

“I have long been a supporter of creating more opportunities to enjoy the beauty of Lake Burley Griffin for Canberrans and visitors to our great city alike,” Senator Seselja said.

“A new café and restaurant will be an extremely welcome addition that will add vibrancy to the lake front,” he said.

Director of GPG, Manuel Spinola said the venue would have three key offers available to cater for visitors and locals including a café, seven days a week from 8am to 5pm; a restaurant, seven days a week, open for lunch and high tea; and functions, also available seven days a week.

Mr Spinola said the new hospitality services were expected to begin in November.
