A new one-stop website to connect job seekers to opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industries has been launched by Tourism WA in partnership with the Australian Hotels Association WA.

According to the partners, the free new purpose-built platform – Westernaustralia.jobs – offers job seekers training, visa support, seasonal opportunities and information on regional destinations.

They said it also offers job seekers visa support, seasonal opportunities and information on regional destinations.

According to the Minister for Tourism and State Development, Jobs and Trade Roger Cook, the website went live for industry earlier in May to add vacancies and it is now opened to job seekers.

“The jobs vacancies are searchable by the WA tourism regions – Coral Coast, Golden Outback, North West, South West and Perth and surrounds,” Mr Cook said.

“It is also searchable by job categories and businesses”.

He said the current vacancies include chefs, bar staff, wait staff, restaurant managers, baristas, coach drivers, gardeners, marketing assistants, events co-ordinators, cleaners, housekeepers, tour guides and boat skippers.

“We need them in the city and in the regions.”

Mr Cook said WA had the lowest unemployment rate in Australia and a record million people in full-time work.

“But the demand for tourism and travel to our great State means we need hundreds, even thousands, of extra full-time and casual workers,” the Minister said.

The launch of the new jobs website follows a recent announcement of an interstate and international marketing campaign to attract working holiday makers to WA to coincide with the early resumption of the Qantas direct flight from London to Perth.

He described the collaboration between Tourism WA and the Australian Hotels Association to work together ‘great’ for the benefit of all tourism and hospitality businesses.

“Making sure our tourism operators and businesses around the State are well resourced is a key priority,” Mr Cook said.

“I encourage locals and those currently on working holiday visas in Western Australia or interstate to visit this website, earn some money and enjoy the unparalleled cultural experiences and many thrilling adventures our State has to offer.
