Nominations are now open for the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Victoria’s Leadership in the Public Sector Awards 2020.
In a statement, IPAA Victoria said it was honouring the energy, expertise, and dedication of teams and organisations who worked in, and with, the Victorian public sector across all three levels of Government.
“Nominations can be submitted by IPAA Victoria Personal members, IPAA Victoria Fellows, or employees of IPAA Victoria Organisation members and are open to Local, State, Commonwealth, and community sector organisations delivering Government services in Victoria,” IPAA Victoria said.
“This year’s theme is The Everyday. The Extraordinary,” it said.
“We believe that what the public purpose sector does every day is extraordinary – and never more so than now.”
IPAA Victoria said it wanted to highlight those projects and initiatives that often went without praise but were essential to the functions and services on which people relied each and every day.
It said the nine Award categories were Advancing Aboriginal Self-Determination Award; Communication Excellence Award; Emergency Management Award (a new category for 2020); Evidence-Based Policy Award; Human-Centred Service Delivery Award; Innovative Regulation Award; Leading Employer Award; Robust Governance and Integrity Award; and Sustainable Communities and Environments Award.
IPAA Victoria said it had made the nomination process easier this year with a simplified nomination form and a sample nomination form from one of last year’s winners.
Nominations are open until 17 December.
