Icon Water is set to host its annual Music on the River event again this year, in a slightly altered format to allow for physical-distancing.
Managing Director of utility, Ray Hezkial said that after a year of constant uncertainty, it was important to find a way to enjoy the beauty and character the ACT and the Queanbeyan region had to offer.
“Sitting by the water’s edge in Queanbeyan, for the fifth year in a row, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will perform an evening of orchestral classics at Music by the River,” Mr Hezkial said.
“It will be a wonderful night for music lovers, those being introduced to the joy of live music for the first time and those that want to soak up the atmosphere,” he said.
“A concert for the whole family.”
Mr Hezkial said the popular event was an opportunity for the community to come together and people interested in attending the concert needed to pre-register to ensure that they could enter the event space.
“Get in quick as tickets are being snapped up by groups of friends and families,” he said.
“Attendees will be able to enjoy local wines, tasty food van favourites or can bring along their own picnic to enjoy.
Mr Hezkial said the concert would be held this Saturday (27 February) at Queen Elizabeth II Park in Queanbeyan, and gates would open at 5pm.
He said general admission (grassed riverbank) was free, where people could BYO picnic blanket or lowered seating, and a limited number of allocated spaces on the amphitheatre terrace were also available to purchase
