The ACT Human Rights Commission is calling on Canberrans to provide feedback on its Client Services Charter which outlines what the Commission does and how it should treat its clients.

President of the Commission, Helen Watchirs said the Client Services Charter 2020-2022 also explained how clients could contact the Commission if they were unhappy with a decision, and how people could give feedback, or complain if things went wrong.

“[The Charter] is about how the Commission should treat clients in the areas of complaints handling, advocacy and victims’ services, and how the Commission should stay up to date with its training and education,” Dr Watchirs said.

“We seek feedback from the community and update our Client Services Charter every three years,” she said.

“We would welcome comments or suggestions about the Charter from anyone in the Canberra community, including clients, members of the public and community and stakeholder groups.”

Dr Watchirs said Commission was required to ask the community for feedback on its Charter each three years.

She said the Commission had also made available an easy English version of its Charter.

The Commission’s one-page Client Services Charter can be accessed at this PS News link and registering a comment about the Commission can be arranged on this link.
