SA Health is to recruit hundreds of nurses and midwifes to support its COVID-19 response across Adelaide’s metropolitan health networks.
Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Stephen Wade said around 370 nursing and midwifery positions would be recruited across the City to build more capacity in health services and support the ongoing COVID-19 response.
“The positions will target priority roles in emergency departments, intensive care units and mental health, while also supporting our strong response to COVID-19 and the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine,” Mr Wade said.
He said the recruitment drive included 120 registered nursing, midwifery and enrolled nursing positions available across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, 150 positions in the Central Adelaide Local Health Network and 100 positions for the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.
Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer at SA Health, Jenny Hurley said there were casual, full-time and part-time positions available across hospital and community-based services.
“Our nurses and midwives time and time again prove their dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional health care to the community,” Ms Hurley said.
“This recruitment drive gives more people the opportunity to take up a very rewarding career in health and play an important part in caring for our patients and the South Australian community.
“I encourage those with the appropriate skills and qualifications to apply to join our team and be part of shaping the future of healthcare in South Australia.”
