WA Health has announced that the Your Voice in Health survey of healthcare workers is to resume in 2023, following a deferral during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey will be rescheduled to the first quarter of next year, with all public health staff encouraged to participate.
Minister for Health, Amber-Jade Sanderson said it would give staff the chance to provide feedback on their workplace experiences and provide an opportunity to identify ways to support their health, safety and wellbeing.
Ms Sanderson said the decision to defer the survey was made in order to maximise participation from health staff, given the original timing coincided with the expected surge of COVID-19 cases in the State’s hospitals.
“It was deferred to allow the Western Australian health system to focus on preparing for and responding to COVID-19,” Ms Sanderson said.
“The Your Voice in Health survey is an important mechanism for healthcare workers to provide feedback to the Department of Health and the other health service providers.”
She said she wanted as many people working in health as possible to participate, “which is why the survey was rescheduled away from the predicted peak of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
“I am pleased to announce it will take place early next year and encourage all healthcare staff to participate,” Ms Sanderson said.
