Green light for buses on light rail

Transport for NSW has announced that buses are to replace light rail services every evening and night this week to allow for essential construction work to be carried out on the future CBD and South East Light Rail.

The change applies until next Monday, 8 April.

Transport for NSW said that between 8pm and 11pm (midnight on Friday) this week, light rail services would continue running between Convention and Dulwich Hill, as per normal.

Buses will run between Central and The Star in both directions past the Convention Centre every 10 minutes.

Overnight, between 11pm (midnight on Friday) and 6am, the buses will run every 30 minutes. Light rail services will not run at all.

Between 6am and 8pm every day, light rail will resume between Central and Dulwich Hill in both directions as per normal schedule, Transport for NSW said.

Until Thursday, 4 April, the last full light rail service between Dulwich Hill and Central will depart Dulwich Hill at 7:03 pm, ending at Central at 7:40 pm. The last service will depart Central at 5:50 pm and end at Dulwich Hill at 8:27 pm.

On Friday, 5 April, the last service will depart Dulwich Hill at 7:12 pm, ending at Central at 7:49 pm. The last service will depart Central at 7:50 pm and end at Dulwich Hill at 10:27 pm.

On Saturday, 6 April and Sunday, 7 April, the last service will depart Dulwich Hill at 7:07 pm, ending at Central at 7:44 pm. The last service will depart Central at 7:45 pm and end at Dulwich Hill at 8:20 pm.

The Agency said normal services would resume at 6am Monday.
