Nineteen volunteer firefighters have been rewarded with recognition for their commitment and service to the ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) with four more recognised for diligence.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Mick Gentleman joined Chief Officer of ACTRFS, Joe Murphy at a ceremony earlier this week (15 May) and thanked all of the award recipients for volunteering their time to protecting the ACT community.
- These volunteers have served with diligence and distinction, accumulating more than 300 years of service between them which is a fantastic achievement,” Mr Gentleman said.
“I acknowledge and thank the families, partners and loved ones of the award recipients for their continued support and the sacrifices they have made in allowing the award and medal recipients to serve our community.”
He said four members received the Chief Officer’s Diligent Service Award for going beyond the call of duty in their role as a volunteer with other members recognised for their length of service and good conduct.
