The Department of Finance has launched its Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for 2022-25.

Announcing the Strategy the Director General of Finance, Jodi Cant encouraged all staff to be part of the journey “to build an inclusive and accessible work environment, ensuring Finance is the best place to work”.

“Our strategy shows how Finance, as a Central Agency, can set the example and be a leader within the public sector when it comes to modelling inclusion and diversity in the workplace,” Ms Cant (pictured) said.

“The diversity of our workforce is crucial if we are to provide effective services.

It’s what allows us to connect with our customers and our colleagues at work.”

She said the Strategy “helps us see different perspectives and create new and innovative ways of providing excellent customer service to the WA community”.

“Nothing is achieved alone, to reach our best we must support each other and maintain an inclusive culture where everybody is valued for their contribution,” Ms Cant said.

“All of us should feel safe, trusted and productive at work. We all have a role to play in creating an environment that truly values the diversity each of us brings to work.”

She said a video showcasing Finance staff and the different ways they brought their personalities to work was a huge hit, with all those featured in Faces of Finance excited to play their part.

“The Strategy demonstrates our commitment to ensuring Finance becomes, and remains, a positive environment where diversity is celebrated, and inclusion is everyone’s business,” the Director General said.
