The Department of Finance has launched a recruitment drive urging university students to apply for its Graduate Program.

In a statement accompanying the campaign, the Department said those beginning a career in Finance would be contributing to a whole-of-Government policy, influencing strategy and helping to deliver practical outcomes for the community.

“For successful candidates, our program will begin in early February 2022,” the Department said.

“You will join a diverse and flexible workforce and rotate through three business areas.”

It said the rotation process was specifically aimed at matching the skills and interests of the new graduates with the needs of the organisation.

“Some of the work past graduates have been involved in includes community services procurement, cyber-security, strategic communications, data analytics, administering revenue laws and project management,” it said.

“This unusual blend of focus on policy, as well as service delivery, provides the foundation for Finance to play a pivotal role in enabling the Government to achieve better outcomes for Western Australians.

“We assure applicants that they will be supported with extensive professional and personal development, a supervisor, a buddy and a graduate alumni network.”

Applications for the program close on 31 May and further information on how to apply can be accessed at this PS News link.
