Fair trading puts fitness to the test

Fair Trading has announced it is conducting a consumer survey of the State’s fitness industry to determine whether it is fair and safe.

“If you go to the gym, take an exercise class or use an app to track your progress, we want to hear from you,” Fair Trading said.

“We are inviting people who use fitness facilities, products or services in NSW to take part in a brief survey,” it said.

“Your input will help guide and shape our future work.”

It said its role was to make doing business in NSW simple, accessible and fair for consumers and businesses.

It said the survey would take about 10 minutes to complete and there would be a draw to win a $100 Rebel sport Gift Voucher once completed.

“Participation in the survey is voluntary, and your responses will not be linked to your identity,” Fair Trading said.

“This information [is] to help us better understand how different consumers might have different experiences with fitness products, services or facilities.”

It said survey questions could include: What products and services you consider to be part of the industry?; How many fitness products and services you currently use?; and Whether or not you were required to complete any waivers, forms or physical examinations before participating in activities.

The survey can be accessed at this PS News link.
