The Essential Services Commission of SA (ESCOSA) has developed a draft decision on its Electricity Distribution Code review aiming to retain its network performance targets from 2025 – 2030.
The Commission said the draft Code was aimed at improving customer service outcomes, meeting consumer expectations and satisfying the Commission’s legislative requirements to be consistent with those of other national electricity market distributors.
ESCOSA said the Code was also aimed at improving customer service by improving the networks’ responsiveness to its patrons as well as retaining the minimum customer service standards for telephone and written enquiry responsiveness,
“These continue to be important to customers and provide a baseline for SA Power Networks’ customer service outcomes,” ESCOSA said.
According to the Commission, improving the reporting practices of the organisation was a significant part of the draft code.
“Reporting requirements are sufficient for the Commission to maintain oversight of regional reliability, and there is no evidence of long-term decline,” it said.
Additionally, the Code says the Agency will no longer be repairing street lights.
The Commission will accept feedback, discussions and meetings with stakeholders on the proposals in the draft decision until by Friday, 10 March after which it intends to publish a final decision on the Code review in June.
