The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) has issued a strategic plan for the year ahead, setting out its key initiatives for the financial year.

Chief Executive of DPC, Nick Reade said the Department, as the lead agency for the State’s public sector, drove the delivery of the Government’s commitments and priorities.

Mr Reade said that in DPCs Strategic Plan 2021-2022 the priorities are: Economic growth; Thriving South Australia; Easy to do business with; Whole of Government effectiveness and administration; and Our people.

“The Strategic Plan is a roadmap for the next 12 months,” Mr Reade said.

“It is a clear agenda that channels where we focus our strengths, expertise, energy and resources.”

Mr Reade said DPC was firmly aligned with a new public sector purpose, ‘Making a difference so South Australia thrives’.

“Everyone needs a sense of purpose: A reason for doing what we do, a light on the hill to guide us and a compelling call to action,” he said.

“Across Government, our purpose bridges the work of all Agencies and pulls the public sector together to deliver for the people of South Australia.”

Mr Reade said the Plan’s strategic outcomes aimed to drive economic growth, jobs, investment and economic opportunities for South Australia; ensure all South Australians have the opportunity to thrive; make doing business with Government easier; lead a well-governed and high-performing South Australian public sector; and be a high performing and effective central Agency.
