The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to collaborate on e-Government and digital transformation.
Chief Executive of the DTA, Randall Brugeaud said the MoU was signed by the Vietnam Office of Government and the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Robyn Mudie, on behalf of the Agency.
“The MoU will assist in expanding cooperation between Australia and Vietnam on digital transformation,” Mr Brugeaud said.
“Digital transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It is both a challenge and an opportunity that Governments around the world are all facing.”
He said the value of sharing expertise and learning from Australia’s international counterparts could not be overestimated.
“This MoU with Vietnam provides a significant opportunity to collaborate and formally facilitate the exchange of experience and knowledge,” Mr Brugeaud said.
“This agreement will enable the Government officials from both countries to share their digital transformation experience and build capability across the region.”
He noted that the Australian Government had also recently pledged to bolster economic and security ties with Vietnam as part of a strategic partnership in the Asia-Pacific region.
Vietnam and Australia established diplomatic relations on 26 February, 1973. In 2009, the two countries established a comprehensive partnership to strengthen their growing ties.
