The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has launched a survey to understand how COVID-19 has impacted on its clients.
DCJ said the survey would help it understand how people in NSW had been affected by the pandemic and what services were needed in their communities to address the impacts.
It said the survey would initially be emailed to clients of non-Government organisation (NGO) service providers who receive Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) programs as well as DCJ and NGO managed carers of children and young people in out of-home care (OOHC) and carers of children on guardianship orders.
“This is the first survey of its type,” DCJ said.
“DCJ may deliver the survey in the future to other DCJ clients such as families who are in the child protection system, clients accessing victim services and clients of courts,” it said.
DCJ said the survey aimed to collect information on financial stress; mental health and wellbeing; changes in clients’ needs; changes in use of DCJ and community services; as well as the potential impact on the welfare of children and families in NSW.
“If you meet the criteria to complete the survey but did not receive an email with the survey link, it may be because DCJ or your service provider doesn’t have the right email address for you,” the Department said.
It said eligible people who were interested in participating in the survey could receive a link to it by emailing DCJ at [email protected].
The survey is open until 31 March.
