With school holidays continuing through this week, the Perth Cultural Centre has come alive with activities, exhibitions and performances for the annual 2021 Awesome Festival.

Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, Basil Zempilas said the Awesome Festival was a place for families to meet local authors, experience world-class ballet, create their own artworks and enjoy being out and about.

“It’s through sponsoring, facilitating and supporting events such as these that makes Perth a vibrant, iconic destination; a place of possibility where great things happen,” Mr Zempilas said.

He said the City of Perth had also launched its Perth Trails app especially for the school holidays, allowing families to take self-guided tours at their own pace, discovering the rich history and interesting landmarks Perth had to offer.

Perth Trails is available for download in the app store and on Google Play.

Mr Zempilas said the app would take children and families on a journey through the City of Perth’s neighbourhoods.

“It features a number of walking trails that showcase a range of historical buildings, points of interest and family fun — there are even recommendations on where to stop for treats with the kids,” he said.

“Visitors can also take advantage of three-hour free parking on weekends in three centrally-located City of Perth car parks,” Mr Zempilas said.
