The Courts Administration Authority (CAA) has said that its new CourtSA online portal will become fully operational on 29 August.

The portal will allow solicitors to view their clients’ cases, including the charges for any defendant they represent, the solicitor for the prosecution or other defendants, as well as filed documents on the case and past and future hearings.

In a statement the CAA said the CourtSA portal would be the same as for Civil and Probate.

“In the lead up to the launch, the CAA will be running CourtSA information sessions to demonstrate how to register for CourtSA, how to access and view your case and lodge documents,” the Authority said.

“Please ensure that your Practitioner code and Law Firm code details are up to date with the Law Society of South Australia.”

The CAA said that when CourtSA goes live in the Criminal, Special and Care and Protection jurisdictions, users would be able to request access to any cases they were representing a party on.

“You will need case access if you are defending a case. Make a list of the cases that you are representing a party on so that you can request case access to those cases,” the CAA said.

Those wishing to find out more about CourtSA can register for one of the Law Society’s Information Sessions available by webinar.
