Come and Say G’day is Tourism Australia’s new global campaign.

Capturing the world’s imagination, a new global campaign Come and Say G’day was launched last week to remind travellers ― both international and domestic ― about why There’s Nothing Like Australia.

This is the next instalment of Tourism Australia’s campaign to support a rebuild of the Australian tourism industry. As travel has been restricted for the last two years, Come and Say G’day is a joyful, creative and unmistakably Australian invitation to the world. The campaign is running across Tourism Australia’s 15 key international markets and aims to support the tourism industry’s recovery by driving demand for travel to Australia.

The multi-channel campaign has introduced the world to two lovable CGI animated characters: Ruby, a souvenir kangaroo, voiced by Australian actor Rose Byrne, and Louie, a toy unicorn, representing international visitors, voiced by actor Will Arnett.

Another highlight is the music featured in the TVC which is a re-interpretation of the classic Australian anthem Down Under by up-and-coming band King Stingray, who sing in both English and Yolŋu Matha ― an Indigenous language from North East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

Come and Say G’day will stand out on the global stage, according to the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator Don Farrell.

A rail journey to remember. Immerse yourself in the iconic adventure of The Ghan.

“This global tourism campaign is a critical step to rebuilding our visitor economy and supporting our tourism industry, which has been through the most challenging period in recent years.”

Come and Say G’day is an iconic Australian welcome, and the use of some of the most recognisable and stunning scenery will remind the world why Australia is the best place to take a holiday.”

Tourism Australia Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, said after a challenging time around the world, “our uplifting and joyful campaign will stand out in what is a highly competitive international tourism market.”

Come and Say G’day is unashamedly and unmistakably Australian through the use of a globally recognisable icon in Ruby the kangaroo who goes on an adventure across the country to show all that Australia has to offer.”
