Comcare has launched a suite of resources to help workplace managers create psychologically safe teams and better manage psychosocial risks at work.

Launching the Good Work Design resources, Comcare said the suite of evidence-based resources included videos and better practice guidance, to help raise awareness and build manager capability to design good work for their teams.

“Good work is good for you,” Comcare said.

“How our work is designed impacts the way we feel and can influence our motivation, engagement and stress levels at work,” it said.

“Evidence shows that good work design can be used to prevent harm to worker health, promote health and wellbeing and support participation and productivity.”

Comcare said its Good Work Design topics addressed known risks to worker health and wellbeing, as well as participation and productivity, on areas including return to work, absenteeism, performance, work demands and change.

It said the resources also covered, building trust in teams, effective communication, providing flexible work and supporting teams.

“The more your team trusts you—and the more you trust them—the more success you will have together,” Comcare said.

“Communicating openly with your employees builds trust, makes them feel valued and provides opportunities to express views and raise issues,” it said.
