Café water goes to the dogs

Icon Water is to provide Canberra cafes and restaurants with free dog bowls as part of its Woof Water initiative.

Managing Director of Icon Water, Ray Hezkial launched the water campaign this week at a café in Greenway.

“Woof Water is part of our carafe program which aims to encourage all Canberrans, including our four-legged friends, to stay hydrated – it’s also low-cost and sustainable,” Mr Hezkial said.

“We’re really passionate about sustainability and reducing single use plastics,” he said.

“Canberra has some of the best tasting tap water in the country, so there’s no need for the community to buy bottled water, for themselves or their pets”.

He said Icon Water would be supplying cafes with eco-friendly bamboo bowls for diners with dogs.

In addition to Woof Water, Icon Water has partnered with ACT Health to run a Refill Canberra campaign to provide free tap water for water bottle refills at Canberra eateries.

“The initiative aims to reduce single use plastic bottles and encourages Canberrans to refill their own drink bottles while on the go,” Mr Hezkial said.

“It’s just as important for our dogs to stay hydrated as it is for us,” he said.
