Libraries ACT has launched a book club for people who are too busy for them, promising minimal time commitment and flexibility.
The library said the Too Busy Book Club recognised that many readers had become non-readers simply because they did not have the time or had fallen out of the habit of reading.
“How many times have we heard someone say, ‘I wish I had more time to read’,” Libraries ACT said.
“As we continue to follow busy lifestyles ‘reading’ has become an activity which is a luxury to some,” it said.
“Libraries ACT is offering a book club like no other – join the Too Busy Book Club and read at your leisure, enjoy a new title every month plus join our facebook discussion group and get all the goss, updates, discuss with other readers and maybe even the author.”
It said the first book for the Club was Love Objects by Emily Maguire, available to borrow as an eBook or audio book.
“By the acclaimed author of An Isolated Incident, Love Objects is a clear-eyed, heart-wrenching and deeply compassionate novel about love and family, betrayal and forgiveness, and the things we do to fill our empty spaces,” the library said.
