Are You Sure

This is the second single that I’ve reviewed from Brisbane band Brixton Alley and once again it’s a good one.

Brixton Alley is a trio of poms who found themselves stranded in Australia during the Covid pandemic.

Initially they were based in Melbourne but relocated to Brisbane where they immediately established themselves as movers in the local scene.

They’ve now clocked up 100 plus gigs and developed a strong fan base.

In fact, they love Australia so much that they’ve thrown their lot in with us (although I suspect they wouldn’t have gone as far as cheering for us in the Commonwealth games).

The boys acknowledge that their time in Australia has had an impact on their music.

They love the energy and brashness of our pub rock and they’ve taken that vibe and melded it with their native Britrock.

The result is a bold, in your face rock that incorporates the best from both hemispheres.

Are You Sure is a song about the mix of confusion and anticipation that we feel when we meet someone new.

That period where both parties are treading carefully to avoid ruining their chances; where you’re constantly second guessing and you’re not sure whether they actually like you or just say they do.

It’s a good track and should rack up the downloads and gain radio airtime.

Brixton Alley are a band on the rise so check them out.
