Libraries collecting feedback

Libraries ACT has invited its users and other customers to have a say on its services by taking part in its Libraries ACT Customer Survey.

It said it wanted to learn more about how members of the public used their library, what they did when they visited in person or online, what they loved about their library and what could be better.

The online survey continues until 15 April and can be accessed this PS News link.

Time to check smoke alarms

Householders in the ACT have been reminded to check their smoke alarms, replace the batteries if they do not work and buy a new alarm if their old one is more than 10 years old.

MLA for Murrumbidgee, Bec Cody said smoke alarms not only saved lives; early detection of a fire would also give firefighters more time to minimise damage.

“Many people have mains-powered smoke alarms now and it is very important that these are maintained and tested regularly,” Ms Cody said.

She said ACT Fire and Rescue was also urging Canberrans to combine checking their smoke alarm with upgrading to interconnected, photoelectric smoke alarms that were less than 10 years old.

They should also have a Home Fire Escape Plan.
