The Department of Sport and Recreation has announced the Premier’s Active April will continue beyond April this year to help Victorians get their 30 minutes a day of physical activity while stay-at-home restrictions remain in place.
“We can all do with a little inspiration to keep us moving, particularly when our routines have changes,” the Department said.
“Active April virtual teams are a great support,” it said.
“Why not get even more creative and design a new challenge to keep your team active at home?”
The Department said its activity tracker would continue for use by Victorians while people stayed at home to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
“If you haven’t set up a team, no problem,” it said. “You can create one with family and friends, or your school or workplace on the Premier’s Active April website.”
It offers recommendations on how to keep active while at home including joining an online class; phoning a friend to do an activity together; and having a routine.
