Academy to share secrets of PS MasterCraft

The Australian Public Service (APS) Academy has launched a series of PS MasterCraft classes helping participants fine hone the crafts of working in Government.

According to the Academy the coming months will see experts deliver masterclasses to help participants learn the most up-to-date thinking and good practice in a range of important APS disciplines.

In a statement, the Academy said the initial focus for the MasterCraft Series would be Working in Government Craft, and the skills, tools and knowledge needed to deliver excellent outcomes for Government and the Australian community.

“Operating in today’s dynamic political environment requires us to maintain up-to-date skills,” it said.

“In developing your own deep understanding of the way the APS operates, these masterclasses offer insights across a broad spectrum of areas that are critical to delivering successfully for the community.”

The Academy said the MasterCraft Series would be delivered in collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology.

“Each event has a unique focus and is guided by experts with extensive backgrounds in their subject areas,” it said.

It said other subjects to be studied included The Modern Public Service and its Future; Strategic and Political Acumen; Systems Thinking; and Small vs Big Government.

“If you enjoy what you learn, you might consider continuing your career learning by enrolling in the highly-regarded Public Service Management Program (PSMP),” the Academy said.
