Indie Dog is the fastest rising band in South Africa, according to the information I received with this single.
Apparently, they are played on radio somewhere in South Africa every half hour.
They’ve also made the radio playlists in eleven countries including the USA, Australia, Portugal and Croatia.
I’ve brought you music from all over the world, but I think this is the first time I’ve reviewed a South African band.
Indie Dog have an album, Theory of Emotion, due for imminent release and Landslide is the third and final single to be released from it – and it’s a good one.
It’s about life taking you on a journey to places that you didn’t intend going.
Despite your best efforts to avoid it the outcome seems pre-determined.
The soulful vocal and intensive instrumentation propel the song forward through energetic passages interspersed with hiatuses until a resolution is reached.
There is a clip of the single on YouTube.
Vocalist, Seb Howarth comments “we are humbled and excited by the reception our last two singles have received worldwide.”
Given the quality of this single and the positive reception the band has received in many countries, I suspect that the album should be worthwhile looking out for.
