The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has reported that the Premier’s iAwards for Innovation in the Public Sector were presented virtually on 30 June this year.
AIIA’s 2021 South Australia and Northern Territory iAwards for Innovation included an announcement of the South Australian Premier’s iAward for Innovation in the Public Sector, recognising digital innovation and transformation within the public sector.
This award was won by South Australia’s Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s Website Design System team for their Website Design System.
The Association said DPC’s Website Design System was recognised for providing Agencies with an easy-to-use and cost-effective way of creating accessible Government websites.
It said the Department’s Online Forms team, in partnership with HCL Technologies (DWS), also won in the category of Technology Platform Solution of the Year for the iApply platform used across the Government.
AIIA said this included the design and delivery of an online form that enabled the State’s businesses to create their own COVID-Safe plans.
It said that, using the iApply platform, around 600 online forms had been built and used across 33 Agencies.
The AIIA said entrants competed in seven award categories of Not-for-Profit and Community; Government and Public Sector; Business and Industry Solutions; Technology Platform; Start-ups; Student; as well as Cross Category nominations.
It said all winning entrants would now compete at the National iAwards to be held later in the year.
The Association said the annual iAwards had run for almost 30 years and were aimed at unearthing, recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian innovation that made a difference and had the potential to create positive change for the community.
It said iAwards submissions were accepted from innovators across the whole Australian economy, whether an individual, group, Government or private organisation, or a student.
