Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) has advised road users to expect temporary closures of Horse Park Drive in Gungahlin between Mulligans Flat Road and the Amaroo playing fields this week while the road is resurfaced.
TCCS said the work would take place in both directions for about a week between 7am and 5pm, depending on the weather.
“Intersection closures and associated detours will not be put in place till 9.30am, following morning peak,” TCCS said.
“One lane will remain open in both directions at all times.
“In the event of unexpected delays, including inclement weather, work may continue into the following week. Road users should take note of roadside signage which will advise them of the updated dates.”
TCCS said access to and from Horse Park Drive at the intersections with Mulligans Flat Road, Mornington Street and Roden Cutler Drive-Katherine Avenue would be temporarily closed whilst the resurfacing is laid. Detours would be in place.
“Work is also continuing on Horse Park Drive in the section between the Federal Highway and Well Station Drive with the project team completing median works and the off-road shared path,” the Directorate said.
“This work is expected to be completed in May with four lanes to be opened up to traffic following its completion.
“Landscaping works will continue for the coming months and there will be off-peak lane closures to ensure the safety of workers,” it said.
