Get Back Your Fight
Sarah Reeves
Curb/Kaos 2023
Nashville based Curb/World Entertainment pop singer Sarah Reeves has released her debut self-written and produced single and it’s a good one.
Reeves demoed an early version of the first verse and chorus of the Get Back Your Fight on her social media page and she gathered 25 million new followers in the following month.
This prompted her to complete the song which is about her personal mental health journey.
The original demoed clip showed her slapping on a fake smile in the face of adversity but the lyrics implore her to fight back and not let depression wreak havoc on her psyche.
Get Back Your Fight is the third single that Sarah has released this year following on from the nostalgia tinged Jealously and the romantic dance track Wanna Be Here.
They are the first releases from an up-coming album due later this year.
Get Back Your Fight starts with Sarah clearing her throat over a sparse four note piano riff.
The initial sound is muted and a little distorted, as if we are listening to a demo.
However this is short lived as she introduces the powerful chorus.
The track morphs from an intimate response to stressful situations, to a huge universal and powerful statement encouraging us to never give in.
For a writing and production debut it quite impressive.
The song has not only delighted her fans at home but it’s also picked up airplay in Germany, Italy and South Africa showing that Sarah has global popularity.
The official video for the track has premiered on Wonderland, a global magazine highlighting the best new and established talent across pop culture.
Sarah Reeves is one to watch. Her first three singles from the up-coming album are strong suggesting the album should be worth checking out.
