Founders of the ‘Your Zen Mama’ blog, well-known businesswomen and actresses Palmer and Olsen present an attractively illustrated and honest, functional guide to embracing motherhood.
You can find your path through pregnancy, birth and beyond while being truly Zen(ish!). The two mamas, with six children between them, hope readers will not only find their own version of peace and balance as a parent — the Zen — but also the predictable disorder that comes with it.
Conversations about the magical myths surrounding conception, birth stories, postpartum experiences, the first few years and loss and love are enlightening. They “share their hopes for the future, what we are doing to lay the foundations for our families, how we’re trying to make our planetary footprints smaller, and why the women in our lives are so incredibly important. We want to help you find that level of peace and joy that comes from letting go and creating your version of a Zen life”.
“To us, Zen is about working towards a feeling of alignment, balance and self-care, setting us up for more positive, fulfilling and grounding relationships with ourselves, our children and those around us.”
So, forget perfection and prepare to get real, vulnerable and dirty (mostly from guacamole) with Sarah and Teresa as they delve into their journeys of motherhood and share some of the knowledge they’ve collected over the years.
