WorkCover Queensland has announced that a new version of the Provider Management Plan (PMP) form and an accompanying user guide were now available.
“We want feedback from allied health providers and stakeholders on this new version — the draft version is currently in PDF format, but we are working towards providing this as an online form in HTML format,” WorkCover Queensland said.
“Feedback collected will be used internally by WorkCover to inform decisions in relation to the annual review of the Public Health Services Tables of Costs and will not be published publicly.”
It said the new Provider Guide contained instructions on completing a PMP.
“To request approval for treatment services for an injured worker, you should complete a PMP request in full (within your scope of practice) as the treating allied health provider,” the Provider Guide says.
“It is important the injured worker is actively involved in the development of their own recovery goals, and that they understand their injury and the likely outcomes and timeframes of their recovery.”
It said the use of the PMP was intended to provide greater clarity about treatment requests, future treatment options and the injured worker’s progress.
“The PMP should be outcome-focused and provide measurable functional improvements,” the Guide said.
“It will assist to provide relevant information for WorkCover Queensland to determine if the treatment and services are necessary and reasonable,” it said.
