Canadian Corey Marks is the latest male heartthrob to swoon the fans on the country music scene.
Who Am I is his debut album on Better Noise Music and it’s already achieved a top five on iTunes and charted well around the world.
The word had already started to spread about the new kid on the block as a result of the success of his first single, Outlaws And Outsiders.
According to Melanie Rodriguez, Director, Product Management at Better Noise Music, Marks was producing some exciting data.
“We knew we had something special when Outlaws And Outsiders started showing up on the Top 10 Discovery Shazam Chart alongside pop, R&B, rock and alternative acts.”
It only takes a brief listen to Who Am I to understand why the album has crossed over to the main charts.
Who Am I is unapologetically a country rock album (possibly more rock than country) that is aimed squarely at the main market.
The hype for Marks and his album ramped up considerably with the release of the videos for the follow-up singles,Better Off, Blame It On The Double, Devil’s Grin, and lastly Drive, all of which received substantial YouTube hits and continued the run of chart success.
The level of attention that Marks is receiving from his record company and the music press reminds me of the sort of blanket coverage that Garth Brooks received and both artists play a similar up-tempo country rock, stadium friendly, style.
The list of achievements that the album has clocked up around the world is an indication that the record company knows the value of their artist.
Who Am I has reached: Canada Country #2 / #4 overall albums, USA #2 Country and 7 overall, Australia #2 Country and 10 overall, UK #3 Country, Germany #15 iTunes.
The album is in the top 20 iTunes worldwide.
