It’s time that I present a bit of light-hearted, good time, country music to help you through the isolation.
Gold Coast country music star Casey Barnes has a number one album on his hands with his latest release Town Of A Million Dreams and he is making the most of it by progressively lifting singles that are also racing up the charts.
The album has topped the ARIA Country Music Chart and reached #16 in the ARIA mainstream charts. This cross-over success is notable.
So far the album has provided a series of hit singles including A Little More which peaked at #2 on The Music Network Country Chart and generated over a million streams, No Other You a duet with Missy Lancaster which has been praised as “One of the year’s finest ballads” by Stack Magazine and Sparks Fly which has already knocked up seven weeks at #1 on The Music Network’s Hot Country Chart.
We’re Good Together is the latest single and it is sure to emulate the success of the other releases.
The song was written in Nashville (which seems to be a prerequisite for a country hit these days) with country duo Brown and Gray, who also co-wrote Sparks Fly.
As I’ve mentioned many times over recent years, it’s often hard to determine where country music ends and pop/rock starts and that is particularly so with We’re Good Together.
The track is indistinguishable from classic pop and it wouldn’t be out of place on any contemporary pop album.
I must point out that this is not a criticism of the track because it’s actually a good song.
It’s more a suggestion to the many readers who come out in hives at thought of listening to country music to have a listen to this album.
Modern country is a very broad genre indeed.
We’re Good Together grabs the listener from its opening bars with a clever ear-worm melody and up-tempo rhythm.
It’s catchy in the best pop way and like Sparks Fly is sure to be a hit.
