One of our escapes from the everyday was spending time at the Regent Phu Quoc on Vietnam’s ‘Pearl Island’. This resort transported us into a new, unfamiliar tropical world of wonder from where we did not want to return!
Our welcome augured well. Tiffany greeted us with a warm smile, a happy disposition — and the enthusiasm was catchy! A chilled fresh lemon drink was sweet, not tangy and the mint added a refreshing flavour. The searing heat outdoors was oppressive and the humidity levels around 90 per cent were uncomfortable. Once inside the cool foyer, it was instant invigoration!
An island jewel, the Regent is nestled on the white sands of Phu Quoc Island’s western coast. On the Long Beach, young ones loved the regular treasure hunts, sandcastle competitions and water gun fun, to name but a few activities. Parents can also leave their children in the expert care of the professionally trained team at the kids’ club, who create entertaining and educational activities, inspired by the nature, culture and spirit of Phu Quoc.
