Vaccination an attraction at Royal Show

People attending the Perth Royal Show can now get a COVID-19 vaccination when they pick up their show-bags.

WA Health has partnered with the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia to deliver vaccines during the Show until 2 October.

Minister for Health, Roger Cook said all eligible Western Australians from 12 years and up could drop in to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination without needing an appointment.

“Thousands of spots are available every day for people to walk in and receive their first COVID-19 vaccine,” Mr Cook said.

“Those who need a second dose should already have a booking and are urged to keep their appointment,” he said.

“In addition to the walk-in clinic, an information, education and booking hub will be set up behind Amherst Farm within the showgrounds.”

Mr Cook said staff would be on hand to talk people through the vaccination process.

Premier Mark McGowan said the Perth Royal Show was an institution and he was excited to see it return this year.

“There are so many families and young people heading out to enjoy this fantastic event, which is one of the country’s only Royal Agricultural Shows to proceed in 2021,” Mr McGowan said.

“If you’re rolling up to take part of the excitement down at the Show, I encourage you to also Roll up for WA and do your bit to keep WA safe,” he said.
