The UK Government is ramping up a drive to expand and deepen its analysis of the Public Service workforce.

It has announced a recruitment process for the head of a Human Resources Analysis Service “to analyse our workforce in increasing levels of detail”.

This examination would cover “not only the current workforce, but also diversity and the ageing demographic”.

The Cabinet Office said as well as leading the analysis team, the chosen candidate would help oversee the wider Cabinet Office Analytics and Insight function.

“The role will include strategic and analytical insight of HR services and the wider Civil Service workforce,” the Cabinet Office said.

“The post holder will need to champion the strategic use of data, analysis and insight to support decision-making.”

It said the role would oversee the delivery of quality research and analysis of recruitment, learning and broader HR data, to support the continuous improvement of central HR services.

The Cabinet Office said the successful applicant would have extensive experience of data-led transformation, playing a major role at the centre of key strategic decision-making about the Public Service workforce.

It said the successful applicant, who will earn up to £70,877 (A$125,000) a year, would report to the head of Digital and Data Analysis.
