Destination NSW is targeting locals in a new tourism campaign encouraging Sydneysiders to enjoy a ‘staycation’ this holiday season.

Announced by Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres, the campaign is part of Destination NSW’s larger Feel New brand campaign, which launched in October.

“The Feel New Sydney campaign is a snapshot of the diverse array of experiences the Harbour City has to offer, including its vibrant culture, buzzing night-time economy, world-class dining, spectacular natural wonders and signature icons and beaches,” Mr Ayres said.

“Our Feel New Sydney campaign is inviting everyone back to our beloved city so they can experience it like never before,” he said.

“Sydney is the beating heart of our State and promises our visitors an experience unlike any other with the power to inspire and reinvigorate.”

Mr Ayres said the new Sydney-focused campaign would help achieve the goals set out in Destination NSW’s Visitor Economy Strategy (VES) 2030.

Chief Executive Officer of Destination NSW, Steve Cox said Feel New Sydney built on the overarching NSW brand by revealing a unique persona for Sydney.

“Sydney is unlike any other city,” Mr Cox said.

“It has a cosmopolitan, buzzing heart, full of every kind of cultural attraction and at the same time, a rich offering of natural wonders right on its doorstep to balance the big city experiences,” he said.

“Here you find a sunrise culture and an after-dark culture – from dusk to dawn Sydney is alive with things to do.”

Mr Cox said the new campaign brought that contrast to life “perfectly”.
