ACT Parks and Recreation has announced that bookings are now open for an overnight wildlife experience at Tidbinbilla.

Nature Stays Manager at ACT Parks and Recreation, Michelle Vernon said WILDfest at Tidbinbilla was the ultimate family sleepover, set to connect people with nature, from 28 September to 13 October.

“For the first time, visitors will be able to wake up in the wild and explore Tidbinbilla’s incredible nature reserve while staying overnight at the spectacular WILDfest pop-up wilderness family camp,” Ms Vernon said.

“Campers will be able to attend a vast array of fun and safe outdoor activities including day and night wildlife encounters, ranger-guided walks, and information sessions to learn about the incredible wildlife and the Indigenous and European history in the valley.”

She said it would be a great chance to see animals in their natural bush setting.

“By night, campers can experience Dreamtime stories by firelight, all within the comfort of a fully catered ‘glamping’ tent accommodation with amenities on site,” Ms Vernon said.

She said a delicious dinner and breakfast would also be provided.

“Tidbinbilla is home to an amazing array of flora and fauna, which includes the fascinating bettongs [rat kangaroos], potaroos, platypus, turtles, kangaroos, emus, koalas and lyre birds,” Ms Vernon said.

Costs are $195 per night for children and $295 per night for adults, all inclusive.

Guests will also be given a day pass to explore Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve after they check-out.
