Three NT Fire and Emergency Services members have been recognised for their dedication in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

For contributions made to Bushfires NT and to women in the Northern Territory, Lee Humphries has been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal. Humphries has been a vital part of Bushfires NT for almost three decades since starting out as the founding member of the Beatrice Hill Volunteer Bushfire Brigade.

She has since served in a leadership capacity as senior regional fire control officer, senior regional fire management officer and eventually assistant director of operations.

Ms Humphries has been acknowledged for setting a standard in a male-dominated industry, becoming one of the most respected and accomplished members of the organisation.

Mr Bromley has been deployed in a series of high-profile incidents and emergencies, such as Samoa in 2019, the Tiwi Islands in 2023 and Christmas Island during the COVID-19 pandemic.
