APS Senior Executive Service

Band 1

Fiona Hoggart has been promoted to Assistant Secretary for Policy and Program Development in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Other Federal Appointments

Since the federal election was called on 28 March, the Australian Government remains in a caretaker period in the lead-up to the election on 3 May. Until a new government is sworn in, government operations are conducted in accordance with the caretaker conventions, and there will likely be few appointments to key federal agencies.

States and Territories

Julian Simmonds has been appointed as Acting CEO of Economic Development Queensland effective 22 April, pending a national executive recruitment process for a permanent CEO..

Gregory Koppenol, John Sosso, and Pat Vidgen have been appointed to the independent Queensland Redistribution Commission for two-year terms.

Simon Ling has been appointed as CEO of the Queensland Treasury Corporation.

Narelle Pamplin has been appointed as the Director of Prisons of the Tasmania Prison Service.

Catherine Whitington has been appointed as Tasmania’s inaugural Disability Commissioner.

Judge Helen Syme has been appointed as Chairperson of the Victorian Adult Parole Board.
