Thirty-year-old best friends Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon) are room mates who share a modest Los Angeles apartment. Morgan is an out-of-work actress and Audrey is a cashier at a Trader Joe’s-type grocery store.
While Audrey wanders hesitantly through life never finishing what she starts, Morgan is a born performer who lives to experience everything.
Life takes a surprising turn when Audrey’s boyfriend, Drew (Theroux) dumps her in a text message, and the two friends discover he was secretly a spy. After he shows up at their apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail, they inadvertently become wrapped up in an international espionage adventure.
Surprising even themselves, the duo jump into action, go on the run throughout Europe from assassins and a suspicious-but-charming British agent, as they hatch a plan to save the world.
Audrey and Morgan are the perfect odd couple. They share spontaneous love and friendship, plenty of crazy action sequences, humour and deliver lots of fun. Minimum experience. Maximum damage.
The Spy Who Dumped Me is atypical achievement; creating a caricature where action is on par with films it’s poking fun at. There are also some interesting special features to watch in the Blu-ray disc.
