The winner of four Oscars at the 90th Academy Awards this year, here’s an inimitable science fiction romance between a mute woman and an amphibious fish god.
This film won statues for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Production Design and Best Original Score.
Elisa (Hawkins) is lonely woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Along with co-worker, Zelda (Spencer), she discovers a top-secret experiment – a mysterious, scaled creature from South America that lives in a water tank.
As Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend and her life then changes forever. She soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist.
The fantasy may be unusual, but it deserves all the accolades. Blu-ray viewing is essential.
